Happy Thanksgiving!
Instead of sending all of you a generic Thanksgiving greeting I thought I'd take a minute and really give thanks. After all, I am very grateful for all of you - blog friends, readers, writers, authors, publishers, and everyone in between. If it weren't for all of you there would really be no point in publishing. I like the old tradition, maybe you've seen it, where once everyone is seated at the table each person takes a turn telling what they're grateful for - in short, giving thanks.
So, if you'll allow me I'll take my turn 'at the table' and hope that each of you might pay it forward and do the same.
I'm thankful for good bloggie friends like Becky Povich, Jean Oram, Cat Woods, and Lisa Gibson. They are there for me no matter what - even if it's been a while since we've spoke. They always open up their blogs for me when we have a new release and invite me into their blog 'homes'. I couldn't ask for nicer friends.
I'm thankful for all of the authors at Chamberton Publishing. They are excellent to work with, have some of the best stories out there, and are always so willing to help promote our books. I've never asked, but almost all of our authors go above and beyond. Sometimes I'm overwhelmed with how kind they are. It matches how extremely talented they are, too.
I'm very grateful for other publishers, too - like Julie Dawson from Bards and Sages Publishing and everyone at Seriously Good Books. They are so willing to share their knowledge, offer advice, and generally help keep you afloat when you're sinking in a pool of submissions (even if they don't know they're doing it!).
I'm very grateful for all of our readers. Those souls who buy our books, love our stories, and leave those reviews. Without all of you there would be no reason to publish!
I'm very grateful for other authors who have generously shared their writing and publishing tips and tricks. Especially those authors over at Kindleboards. They really are my second family. Their combined knowledge and willingness to help others is amazing. Everything you ever wanted to know about this crazy world of writing and publishing can be found there. Hands down they are some of the best people on the planet.
I'm grateful for all of our families. We like to think that writing is a solitary endeavor. But really if it wasn't for our families, our friends, our spouses, and the people in our lives we wouldn't be the people we are today writing the stories we're writing. They're the ones who pick us up after a not so great review. They're the ones who hold our hand through it all - even if they have no clue what we're doing. And they're the ones we run to when we need a break form it all. In short, our families are our foundation that enable us to continue on.
Most importantly I'm grateful to my Lord and Savior for allowing so many blessings in my life.
This is what I'm grateful for.
I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving. Be sure to let those who mean the world to you know just how grateful you are for them.
And I hope the turkey is scrumptious, that you eat way too much, and that you leave room for the pie.
I know I will.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, T.K.
